I hope this works, and I hope the mods don't ban me for this. I have NO IDEA what happened with diedre79. She frequently pissed me the hell off, I found her irritating, irrational, and most often an intractable bitch. In spite of that, she was part of this forum, and barring a breach of the rules of the forum, I believe she should be allowed back on the forum. I hope the "poll" option works, and mods, feel free to delete this thread if it's inappropriate. Thank you all.

[edit] I suppose if DD wants to publicly withdraw those statements which got her banned, and apologize to the Admins and Mods and will abide by their rules... sure. I also think that if she falls back to her old ways or retracts her apology, she should be gone and never return.

Frankly, I think my first statement is pretty spot on. Don't waffle, Let your "yes" be "yes", and your "no" be "no".

 

Hey, I know how much DD could piss me the fuck off, and I'm not on here very often. I've wished for her to be banned before, but if she doesn't break the rules, I've got an "Ignore" option. And hell, if you don't like ramming your head into the wall, don't try to change people opinions in an online forum. Personally, I like railing at the fucking stupid reprehensible bullshit fucktards on here because it justifies my opinion of humanity. And if even once I can get people to realize their common ground, all my frustration is worth it.

Nophest has a dilemma, and it's nothing to do with how to spell that word.

Would having Deedee back create more disharmony than keeping her banned?

His original reasoning for banning her was that she was bringing the forums into disrepute by accusing mods of bias. Please note: This suggests that it was his forums he was worried about....not whether the accusations were true or not.....so he called her out, knowing full well accusations of bias could not realistically be proven.

So...Deedee tells him pretty much to go fuck himself.

Several days go by with numerous Deedee threads taking over the forums resulting in the main mod in question, Shake Zula, telling Deedee to 'eat shit' which, at the very least suggests a hint of malice, if not bias.....thus proving Deedee's initial complaint.

So....if Nophest allows her back, he effectively pisses all over Shake Zula's chips....and his position as mod would be more or less untenable. Maybe he should jump before he's pushed?

If Nophest doesn't allow her back, he probably hopes the fuss caused by her banning will eventually die down....but....as Shake Zula is so fond of saying....."You can't stick toothpaste back in the tube."

On top of that, there is always the chance that, should Nophest let her back in, Deedee will turn around and say "Fuck You, I don't want to be a member of such a set of boards run in such a joke fashion anyway."

It would seem that a few other members would agree with her.

 

But TCL, she must still want to be a member here because she keeps coming back...

This whole thing with Deidre has made all of you fear heavy-handedness by the mods. It's as if all of the sudden the fact that mods have never interfered with with personal squabbles has been forgotten. Several of you who are bitching about her have been here for years and you know that that almost anything goes.

That was why nophest kicked her in the first place. Because she's got you all believing that him and the mods run around playing favorites, censoring or silencing those they didn't like. No one has yet been able to provide any evidence that this has ever happened.

Yet here you are, Fur, worrying about having an inappropriate thread deleted. When's the last time you saw or heard of a thread being deleted or locked because the mods thought it inappropriate?

I didn't mean that the mods delete threads arbitrarily, it's that I realize that the mods help keep the site we all enjoy using up and running, and I'd hate to shit in the stew. Even if people are into it, it grosses me out. I don't know the whole story, don't think I ever could, but saw someone say, "why not make a poll" and thought, why the hell not? I love this site, I love the fact there are people on here who take moral stances I find impossible to reconcile, and I love arguing with them. I think the mods do a great job of not taking action, and letting people express themselves how they want. Finally, I was curious as to what the results would be, so here we are.

Did not Deidre79 break a rule of the forum......OH NO! I'm not talking about one of the written rules upon which the sun shines, and upon which we are all familiar......NO! NO!.....I'm talking about one of the UNWRITTEN rules which so stealthily become our dogma one day, then slip into the foggy night, never to be enforced again.

How can we, as an internet community, disabuse the masses of their overly spirited notions of self-importance, if we will not corner and crush one of our own every once in awhile?

I'd fucking love to see what was going on in the mods forum since your appointment.....you know....the forum that no-one else can see that the mods use to communicate with eachother.

Probably nil, but why should it be accessible to everyone? I don't think that's our business. If you want to start a website, you can make the mod forums accessible to everyone.

Tho I have to say, I'd quite like everyone to see what's been going on in there.
