The incident triggered a scuffle that resulted in the ejection of five players, including Reid and teammate Donte DiVincenzo.
Detroit head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and Minnesota assistant Pablo Prigioni were also tossed from the game.
Despite the disruption, Minnesota maintained control throughout the matchup.
