Real Madrid is looking to strengthen the midfield ahead of what’s coming. Casemiro’s departure last summer was the first in a cycle of departures that might include Tony Kross and Luka Modric, whether they leave soon or in a few years. That’s why Madrid hasn’t stopped searching for pieces to add to the squad and fill the void, and some players like Jamal Musiala and Jude Bellingham are already on the team’s radar.

According to Marca, the latest star that has picked Madrid’s interest is Argentinian midfielder Enzo Fernandez (21). The player from Benfica, still coming off the bench for Argentina, has carved a spot for himself thanks to his great performances, including the goal that he scored against Mexico in his last match.

Fernandez embodies everything that Real Madrid is looking for in this type of signing. A physical player capable of making decisions, and with tons of potential. That’s why Hernandez could be an alternative in case Jude Bellingham doesn’t land in Madrid.

Although Bellingham’s short-term plans are in Germany, he might be close to returning to England, specifically Liverpool. What’s true is that this World Cup has no shortage of young players that Real Madrid can choose from.
