England coach Gareth Southgate felt sorry for the defeat against France and admitted he has not yet made a decision about his continuity as head of the ‘Three Lions’.

‘After every tournament we sit down, evaluate the situation and have some reflection. We need time to make sure everyone makes the right choice’ Southgate said, who also thinks England should’ve qualified to the semifinals.

Compliments to the team

‘Of course, but goals are decisive. I just told the players they couldn’t have given more, they played so well against a first tier adversary. The way in which they have progressed as a team throughout the tournament has been great’, Southgate pointed out.

The English dedicated kind words to Harry Kane, who missed the penalty that would’ve taken the game into extra time: ‘We win and lose as a team, we got a couple of goals and missed a few opportunities. He's been reliable in those situations and we wouldn't be here now if it weren't for him’.

Lastly, he kept to himself when speaking about Brazilian referee Wilton Sampaio: ‘It doesn’t make any sense, to speak about that. I prefer to talk about our players and congratulate France’.
